Swinging refers to a recreational
lifestyle in which couples engage in consensual sexual activities of their

group atmosphere can be traced as far back to the Roman Empire, the modern
version of the swing lifestyle has tentative roots in the 1950s during which
time it is generally thought to have been practiced in some American military
communities. This type of sexual recreation was first legitimized in the 1960s
when the North American Swing Club Association began in Berkeley, California.
Within a decade, the lifestyle was in full swing and was very much a part
